Description

Overview

At 541 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 16 miles southeast of Vernal, moving northeast at 45 mph.

Hazard

Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

Radar indicated.

Impacts

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of east central Uintah County. This includes U.S. Highway 40 in Utah between mile markers 157 and 170.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
