Description

Overview

At 741 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 15 miles southeast of Vernal, moving east at 50 mph.

Hazard

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

Radar indicated.

Impacts

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation and outdoor objects is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Moffat and east central Uintah Counties. This includes U.S. Highway 40 in Utah between mile markers 153 and 171.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
