Description

Overview

At 236 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11 miles west of Moab, moving north at 20 mph.

Hazard

Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

Radar indicated.

Impacts

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation and outdoor objects is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of south central Grand County. This includes the following highways... U.S. Highway 191 in Utah between mile markers 136 and 145. Utah 313 between mile markers 15 and 22.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office in Grand Junction.
