Description
The areas affected include... Hawk Channel and Straits of Florida from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to 20 nm west of Dry Tortugas out 20 nm... Gulf of America from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to Halfmoon Shoal out to 5 fathoms... Gulf of America including Dry Tortugas and Rebecca Shoal Channel... At 628 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a line of strong thunderstorms, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Northwest Channel Buoy 1 to near Twenty-Eight Foot Shoal Light, moving west at 10 knots. Locations that will be affected include... Marquesas Keys, Cosgrove Shoal Light, Boca Grande, Twenty-Eight Foot Shoal Light, and Cottrell Key.
Instructions
Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.
