Description

What

Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

Where

Much of southwest New Mexico, including the Dona Ana, Grant, Luna, Hidalgo, and Sierra Counties and the Sacramento Mountain in south-central New Mexico.

When

Until 6 AM MDT Thursday.

Impacts

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

Additional details

- Abundant moisture has moved into the region and scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue tonight. Many areas west of the Rio Grande have received a half inch up to 2 inches of rainfall over recent days, so any additional rainfall could lead to flash flooding. Localized storm amounts of 1 to 2 inches are still possible with the strongest storms and where storms redevelop over the same area. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
