Description
A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas... Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD... At 222 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a gust front out ahead of strong thunderstorms, capable of producing wind gusts of 25 to 30 knots. This gust front was located along a line extending from 10 nm west of Alexandria to 15 nm northwest of Leesylvania State Park to 24 nm northwest of Quantico, moving southeast at 20 knots.
Instructions
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
