Description
ESFLOT Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible starting late Friday night and continuing into Monday across southern Wisconsin, northern Illinois, and part of northwestern Indiana. High moisture content in the atmosphere will lead to torrential downpours where thunderstorms are most frequent, leading to the potential for several inches of rain on a widespread basis. The favored area for several rounds of showers and thunderstorms Friday night through Monday will be near and north of Interstate 80 where several inches of rain have fallen in the past 24 hours. The intersection of increasingly saturated soils and repeated downpours may lead to areas of flooding and rises in river levels, including along the Rock, Fox, DuPage, and Illinois rivers. This outlook means that elevated water levels and potential impacts are possible, but not yet certain. Persons should closely monitor forecasts including the possibility of flood watches, warnings, and advisories. Additional statements or outlooks may be issued by tomorrow morning.
