Overview
At 421 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8 miles south of Canyon City, or 10 miles south of John Day, moving north at 15 mph.

Penny size hail.

Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Canyon City. This includes Highway 395 between mile markers 2 and 14.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
