Description

Overview

At 738 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.25 and 2.25 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Impacts

Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mainly rural areas of Northern Sandoval County. This includes Highway 550 between Mile Markers 86 and 93. High and fast water flows are expected in Pena Wash. Roads J 23 and J 24 will also be impacted.

Instructions

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
