Additional details
- At 748 PM HST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges continued to indicate moderate to locally heavy rain over the South Hilo, Puna, and Ka'u districts. Though the thunderstorms have weakened in the area and stream gauges plateaued, minor flooding may still persist for the next several hours. Rain was falling at a rate of 0.5 to 1 inch per hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Volcano, Glenwood, Mountain View, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Hawaiian Acres, Orchidlands Estates, Keaau, Pahoa and Wood Valley.
Instructions
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding.
