Northwestern Thomas County in northwestern Kansas... Rawlins County in northwestern Kansas... Northeastern Sherman County in northwestern Kansas... * Until 645 PM MDT/745 PM CDT/. * At 538 PM MDT/638 PM CDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 miles east of St. Francis to 4 miles southeast of Bird City to 7 miles north of Brewster, moving northeast at 35 mph.

Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Severe thunderstorms will be near... Bird City and McDonald around 645 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of these severe thunderstorms include Atwood and Ludell.

Instructions

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. These thunderstorms will produce strong winds resulting in areas of near zero visibility in blowing dirt. Use extreme caution if you must travel and be alert for rapidly changing visibility. This thunderstorm is producing accumulating hail, which will make driving hazardous, similar to snow or ice. If you must travel, be aware of rapidly changing road conditions. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
