Description

Overview

At 116 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms 24 miles north of Castle Valley, moving northeast at 40 mph.

Hazard

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

Impacts

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Cisco. This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 in Utah between mile markers 201 and 222. Utah 128 between mile markers 38 and 44.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
