Overview

At 238 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Fruita, or 9 miles northwest of Grand Junction, moving east at 35 mph.

Hazard

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

Radar indicated.

Impacts

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Grand Junction, Fruita, and Redlands. This includes Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 20 and 24, and mile marker 26 and near mile marker 48.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
