...The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Minnesota... South Branch Root River at Lanesboro affecting Fillmore and Houston Counties.

At 14.0 feet, The river may begin to threaten "The Flat" area at this level and the ballfield will begin to experience some flooding.

- At 9:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 10.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 15.2 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.2 feet on 06/09/2008. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Instructions
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Additional river and weather information is available at www.weather.gov/lacrosse. The next statement will be issued late tonight by 115 AM CDT.
