Overview
At 309 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over southwestern Birmingham, moving south at 10 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Southwestern Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Mountain Brook, Fairfield, Midfield, Lipscomb, Patton Creek, Regions Field, Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, Ross Bridge, Bluff Park, The Summit, Riverchase Galleria, U.A.B. Campus, Samford University, Five Points South, Cahaba Heights, and Birmingham Zoo. This includes the following highways... Interstate 65 between mile markers 249 and 259. Interstate 459 between mile markers 9 and 20. Interstate 59 near mile marker 117. US Highway 280 between mile markers 1 and 6.
