Description

Overview

At 501 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 19 miles south of Rangely, or 52 miles north of Grand Junction, moving northeast at 20 mph.

Hazard

Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

Radar indicated.

Impacts

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation and outdoor objects is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of west central Rio Blanco County. This includes Colorado 139 between mile markers 48 and 63.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
