Description

Overview

At 545 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11 miles southeast of Rangely, or 57 miles southeast of Vernal, moving northeast at 20 mph.

Hazard

Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.

Impacts

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation and outdoor objects is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern Rio Blanco County. This includes the following highways... Colorado 64 between mile markers 36 and 37. Colorado 139 between mile markers 57 and 65.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
