Description

Overview

At 554 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 5 miles south of Burlington to 17 miles southeast of Bethune to 11 miles west of Cheyenne Wells, moving southeast at 20 mph.

Hazard

60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Impacts

Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Cheyenne Wells, Arapahoe, and Firstview. This includes Highway 385 between mile markers 146 and 184.

Instructions

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. This thunderstorm is producing accumulating hail, which will make driving hazardous, similar to snow or ice. If you must travel, be aware of rapidly changing road conditions. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
