Overview

At 808 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Rifle, or 26 miles west of Glenwood Springs, moving east at 30 mph.

Hazard

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

Radar indicated.

Impacts

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation and outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Rifle and Silt. This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 83 and 102. Colorado 13 between mile markers 1 and 4.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
