Impacts

Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations continues. Streams remain high or just over their banks to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

- At 1154 AM CDT, Trained weather spotters reported creeks over their banks in northwest Louisa and western Muscatine Counties. Between 2.5 and 5 inches of rain fell over much of the warned area yesterday and Sunday morning. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Iowa City, Muscatine, Washington, Tipton, Marengo, West Branch, Sigourney, Columbus Junction, Durant, Coralville, North Liberty, West Liberty, Williamsburg, Wilton, Kalona, Tiffin, Wellman, Lone Tree and University Heights.

Instructions

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
