Description
The areas affected include... Glacier Bay... Cross Sound... * At 949 AM AKDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This strong thunderstorm was located 7 NM north of Graves Harbor, or 12 NM north of Cape Spencer, moving north at 35 knots. Locations impacted include... Lone Island and Muir Point.
Instructions
Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. This thunderstorm will likely produce winds to around 30 knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A Special Marine Warning may eventually be required when this storm reaches the nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before the storm arrives.
