Description
Overview
At 624 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles north of Brownstown, or 10 miles northeast of Vandalia, moving southeast at 30 mph.
Hazard
60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Impacts
Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Wrights Corner, Brownstown, Avena and St. Elmo. This includes Interstate 70 in Illinois near exit 76.
Instructions
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built structure.
