Impacts
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems.
Additional details
- At 843 PM EDT, Emergency management reported numerous flooded roadways in the warned area due to thunderstorms earlier this morning. Flooding is ongoing. Between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional Rainfall is expected tonight. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wellston, Mcarthur, Hamden, Allensville, Byer, and Eagle Mills. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
