Description
The areas affected include... Straits of Florida from Craig Key to west end of Seven Mile Bridge out 60 nm... At 1102 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located 22 nm south of Marathon Humps, moving northeast at 15 knots. The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
Instructions
Prepare for rainfall rates up to INSERT RAINFALL RATE inches per hour. Make sure bilge passages and scuppers are clean of any debris or obstruction. Intense and continuous lightning is occurring with this storm. Stay low, or go below. Lower VHF antenna, outriggers, fishing rods, and umbrellas. Avoid open areas on islands and sandbars. Do not shelter under tall or isolated trees on nearby mangrove islands.
