Description

Overview

At 243 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Talladega to near Childersburg. Movement was south at 20 mph.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

Impacts

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Talladega, Sylacauga, Childersburg, Oak Grove, Bon Air, Winterboro, Alpine, Sycamore, Logan Martin Lake, Sylacauga Municipal Airport, Overbrook, Gantts Quarry, Hollins, Roselle, Howells Cove, and Mignon. This includes US Highway 280 between mile markers 33 and 47.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
