Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

- At 650 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Hungry Mother Creek, Indian Creek, Beaver Creek, Little River, Blue Spring Creek, Crewey Branch, Laurel Creek, Lick Creek and Campbell Creek. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding, including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports and pictures can also be shared on the National Weather Service Blacksburg Facebook page and on X.
