Overview
At 1025 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Billows, or 14 miles east of Somerset, moving northeast at 15 mph.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

Impacts
Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Mount Vernon, Sand Springs, Wood Creek Lake, Pongo, Spiro, Wabp, Lake Linville, Hansford, Renfro Valley, Valley Oak, Bunch, Hazel Patch, Pine Hill, Camp Wildcat, Wellhope, East Bernstadt, Sand Hill, Billows, Burr, and Maretburg. THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS... Interstate 75 in east central Kentucky between mile markers 43 and 64. Kentucky Highway 80 in Laurel County between mile markers 1 and 8. Kentucky Highway 80 in Pulaski County between mile markers 27 and 40.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office in JACKSON KY.
