Description
At 323 PM CDT...A line of strong thunderstorms was located along a line extending from Escambia Bay to near Mid Bay Bridge...moving southwest at 15 knots. Locations impacted include... Mary Esther, Fort Walton Beach, Pensacola Beach, Pensacola Pass, Shalimar, Fort Pickens, Destin, East Bay, Pensacola Bay Bridge, and Okaloosa Pier. The primary threats from these storms are wind gusts up to 30 knots...locally higher waves...and heavy downpours. Boaters should consider seeking safe harbor until these storms have passed. Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible and keep away from metal objects. Weather conditions support the development of waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous waves and seas. If a waterspout is sighted...seek safe harbor immediately.
