Description

Overview

At 328 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 20 miles north of Moab, moving north at 10 mph.

Hazard

Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

Radar indicated.

Impacts

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of central Grand County. This includes the following highways... Interstate 70 in Utah between mile markers 184 and 198. U.S. Highway 191 in Utah near mile marker 149.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
