SVRSLC The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southeastern Salt Lake County in northern Utah... North central Utah County in northern Utah... * Until 430 PM MDT. * At 405 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Lehi, or 9 miles south of Sandy, moving north at 30 mph.

Sandy, South Jordan, Lehi, Draper, Pleasant Grove, Cottonwood Heights, American Fork, Alpine, Little Cottonwood Canyon, Granite, Little Cottonwood Creek Valley, Big Cottonwood Canyon, Highland, Cedar Hills, Alta, Snowbird, and Brighton. This includes Interstate 15 between mile markers 278 and 283, and between mile markers 289 and 295.
Instructions
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
