Description
Overview
At 528 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 16 miles north of Meeker to 8 miles southwest of Craig to 10 miles southwest of Hayden to 11 miles west of Oak Creek. Movement was northeast at 35 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

Impacts
Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Craig, Steamboat Springs, Hayden, Milner, Lay, and Tow Creek. This includes the following highways... U.S. Highway 40 in Colorado near mile marker 72, and between mile markers 75 and 129. Colorado 13 between mile markers 77 and 106.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
