- At 804 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Gaffney, Blacksburg, Draytonville, Cherokee Falls, Thicketty and Saratt. - Locations in southern Cherokee County along Pacelot Highway, Baker Road, and Blue Branch Road, Elbethel Road, Wash Away Bridge Road, Billy Goat Bridge Road, and Goucher Creek road could see nuisance to minor flooding develop. Locations in the northwestern Cherokee County along Burgess Road, Mintz Farm Road, Twin Bridge Road, and Pennington Lane could also see nuisance to minor flooding develop. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
