Until 930 PM MST.
Impacts
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry washes. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.
Additional details
- At 630 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.1 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Elgin. - This includes the following highways... Route 82 between mile markers 25 and 26. Route 83 between mile markers 15 and 24. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
