Description
The areas affected include... Northern Chatham Strait... Southern Chatham Strait... * At 946 PM AKDT, satellite imagery indicated heavy showers and thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. Locations impacted include... Point Gardner, Point Hayes, East Peril Strait, Point Sullivan, Rowan Bay, Rodman Bay, Little Port Walter, Freshwater Bay, Deadman Reach, Sergius Narrows and Hoonah Sound.
Instructions
Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
