Description
Overview
An intensifying tropical cyclone is expected to bring heavy rain to the eastern end of the state over the next few days. The exact track of the dangerous tropical cyclone remains somewhat uncertain, but significant heavy rain is likely over windward and southeast Big Island.

Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

Big Island, Maui, Lanai, Molokai, and Kahoolawe.

Impacts
Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.
Additional details
- Heavy rain on the north side of an intensifying tropical cyclone will develop later today and tonight over Big Island and spread to Maui. Windward and southeast Big Island and windward Maui are the most likely to experience heavy rain, with considerable flooding possible over portions of Big Island Friday into the weekend. Other islands in Maui County are at risk as well.
