Description
Overview
At 515 PM MST, a river gauge on the Agua Fria River reported a rapid rise of 3.3 feet from earlier thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already occurring.

Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the Agua Fria River. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Agua Fria National Monument and Black Canyon City. This includes Interstate 17 between mile markers 243 and 245. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Badger Spring Wash, Larry Creek, Agua Fria River, Black Canyon Creek, Bishop Creek, Squaw Creek, Antelope Creek, Indian Creek, Slate Creek, Silver Creek, Black Canyon, Tank Creek and Copper Creek.
Instructions
Turn Around, Don't Drown! Avoid driving across the Squaw Valley Road low water crossing in Black Canyon City. Flash flooding of the Agua Fria is occurring. Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Get out of washes and creeks if you are camping or hiking! Flooding is occurring and will inundate creeks and washes.
