What

Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

Where

Portions of central, east central, and southeast New Mexico, including the following areas, in central New Mexico, Eastern Lincoln County and South Central Mountains. In east central New Mexico, Curry County, De Baca County, Quay County and Roosevelt County. In southeast New Mexico, Chaves County Plains and Southwest Chaves County.

When

Through late tonight.

Impacts

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Additional details

- Rounds of showers and storms will continue through tonight. Rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will have the potential to produce rapid runoff, especially during the afternoon and evening hours on Thursday. Soils are becoming increasingly saturated from persistent rainfall over the past couple of days, further elevating the risk of flash flooding. Rainfall amounts will generally range from 1 to 2 inches, with isolated totals up to 3 inches. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
