Overview

FFWABQ The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... Southeastern Curry County in east central New Mexico... * Until 830 PM MDT. * At 604 PM MDT, the public reported flash flooding across the warned area, with numerous road closures in Clovis. Between 2 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Clovis, Cannon Air Force Base and Portair. This includes Highway 60 between Mile Markers 380 and 391.

Instructions

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of normally dry arroyos and streambeds, low water crossings, intersections and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low lying areas.
