FFWABQ The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Southeastern Lincoln County in central New Mexico... Western Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico... * Until 1130 PM MDT. * At 624 PM MDT, gauge reports in Hondo show a significant and dangerous flood wave in the Rio Hondo. This flood wave will continue to impact communities downstream to and past the Chaves County line.

Stay away from river banks as this flood wave will develop rapidly. Those near the Rio Hondo should consider seeking higher ground.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
