Overview
At 933 PM MDT, gauge reports in Hondo show a significant and dangerous flood wave in the Rio Hondo. This flood wave will continue to impact communities downstream to and past the Chaves County line.

Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Picacho and Sunset. Stay away from river banks as this flood wave will develop rapidly. Those near the Rio Hondo should consider seeking higher ground.
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
