Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional details
- At 354 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1.25 inchES of rain has fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Clear Creek, Tucker Gulch, Ralston Creek and Van Bibber Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Southwestern Arvada, western Wheat Ridge, northwestern Golden and White Ranch Open Space.
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, highways and underpasses. Additionally, country roads, farmlands along the banks of creeks, and other low lying areas are subject to flooding.
