Description
Overview
At 358 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Rio Chiquito, or 6 miles east of Chimayo, moving northeast at 25 mph.
Hazard
Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

Impacts
Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Chimayo, Truchas, Penasco, Rio Chiquito, Dixon, Cundiyo, Pilar, Embudo and Ojo Sarco. This includes State Road 518 between Mile Markers 52 and 60.
Instructions
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Motorists can expect brief but sudden changes in visibility and ponding of water on roadways as storms move through the area.
