Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional details
- At 418 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... North Fork Deer Creek, Bear Creek, Dutch Creek, Deer Creek and Plum Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Littleton, Chatfield Reservoir, Ken Caryl, Columbine and Kassler.
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of small creeks and streams, highways, streets, underpasses, drainage areas and other low lying spots.
