Additional details
- At 429 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. From 1.00 to 1.25 inches of rain has fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Ralston Creek, South Platte River, East Toll Gate Creek, First Creek, Little Dry Creek, Toll Gate Creek, Clear Creek, Big Dry Creek, Westerly Creek, West Toll Gate Creek, Coal Creek, Willow Creek, Sand Creek, Van Bibber Creek and Cherry Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Denver, western Aurora, southwestern Centennial, eastern Littleton, eastern Wheat Ridge, Greenwood Village, Cherry Hills Village, Edgewater, Mountain View and Cherry Creek Reservoir.
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of small creeks and streams, highways, streets, underpasses, drainage areas and other low lying spots.
