Additional details
- At 507 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This may cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Kiowa Creek, Third Creek, East Toll Gate Creek, Box Elder Creek, Running Creek, Toll Gate Creek, Murphy Creek, Cherry Creek, West Toll Gate Creek, Second Creek, Coal Creek, West Sand Creek, Horse Creek and First Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Aurora, Denver International Airport, D.I.A Terminal and Concourses, Watkins, Manila Village and Buckley SFB.
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, highways and underpasses. Additionally, country roads, farmlands along the banks of creeks, and other low lying areas are subject to flooding.
