Description
What
For the Small Craft Advisory, east winds 20 to 25 kt and seas 9 to 12 feet. For the Gale Watch, east winds up to 35 kt and seas 10 to 15 feet possible.
Where
Kauai Northwest Waters, Kauai Windward Waters, Kauai Leeward Waters, Kauai Channel, Oahu Windward Waters and Oahu Leeward Waters.
When
For the Small Craft Advisory, until 6 PM HST this evening. For the Gale Watch, from 6 PM HST this evening through Sunday afternoon.
Impacts
Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
Instructions
A Gale Watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to 47 knots has significantly increased but the specific timing and/or location is still uncertain. It is intended to provide additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider altering their plans.
