Description

What

Up to 2 to 4 feet of inundation above ground level in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.

Where

Areas along the beaches, Pamlico Sound, and adjacent tidal creeks.

When

Until midnight EDT tonight.

Impacts

Some roads may be closed. Portions of Highway 12 remain closed between Pony Pens and the ferry dock. Low lying property including homes, businesses, and some critical infrastructure will be inundated. Dangerous surf conditions.

Additional details

The next high tide is around 8 PM tonight.

Instructions

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
