Details

Heavy rain is expected. A low pressure system will bring heavy rain to communities in the Kivalliq beginning late Saturday evening and lasting through the day on Sunday. Total rainfall accumulations are expected to be between 20 and 40 mm. Strong easterly winds coinciding with the rain are also expected, with gusts up to 90 km/h possible. This will result in visibilities being reduced at times when the rain and wind are strongest. The rain and wind are expected to taper off Sunday evening.

Impacts and guidance

Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times. Local utility outages are possible. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant impacts are expected due to rainfall amounts. De la pluie forte est prévue. Une dépression occasionnera de la pluie forte sur certaines collectivités du Kivalliq à compter de tard samedi soir et toute la journée de dimanche. Les quantités totales de pluie devraient être de l'ordre de 20 à 40 mm. On prévoit également des vents forts d'est qui coïncideront avec la pluie et qui pourraient souffler en rafales jusqu'à 90 km/h. La visibilité sera donc réduite par moments sous l'effet de la pluie et des vents les plus forts. La pluie et les vents devraient cesser peu à peu dimanche soir.

Une visibilité soudainement réduite par moments est à prévoir. Des pannes de courant sont possibles par endroits. Un avertissement de pluie est émis lorsque des impacts importants sont attendus en raison de la quantité de pluie prévue.
