Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. Water over roadways.
Additional details
- At 916 PM HST, emergency management reported that several roads in the Puna and Kau Districts remain closed due to flooding. Areas of moderate rain will continue to move into southeast portions of the Big Island over the next few hours with rainfall rates generally 0.5 to 1 inch per hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hawaiian Paradise Park, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Wood Valley, Volcano, Pahala, Glenwood, Punaluu Beach, Kawa Flats, Mountain View and Hawaiian Acres.
Instructions
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding. A Flood Watch is also in effect until 6 AM HST.
