Description

Details

The first notable accumulating snowfall of the season is expected. Locations: Labrador City and Wabush. Total snowfall: generally near 5 cm, with locally higher amounts possible. Time span: Sunday afternoon until late Sunday night. Remarks: Snow may make Thanksgiving travel slower than usual, with slippery roads and walkways. Be prepared for winter driving conditions, keep a snow brush handy, and allow extra time to reach your destination. As temperatures hover near the freezing point, snowfall accumulations may vary over short distances.

Description

Note
Service Notice – July 2026: The Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) CAP Service undergoes changes from time to time as the business of alerting evolves. For Spring 2026, changes are expected to include... 1) ECCC's deployment to introduce free-form polygons to represent the true threat area of a weather hazard, which was originally scheduled for June 2026, is delayed. We will communicate the new date when it is available. Monitor https://dd.weather.gc.ca/doc/genots/ for notifications on the new launch date. Information about free-form polygons representing the true threat area of a weather hazard remains under media embargo until launch, 2) marine alerts will now be issued for smaller zone splits in certain areas of Atlantic and Pacific waters and 3) other minor improvements and corrections.
